Walker Drilling Ltd. recognizes the importance of health and safety. Our clients demand it, and so do we. All employees are First Aid, CPR, WHMIS, & OSHA trained. We strive for zero lost time / accidents which we achieve through our extensive environment, health and safety plan. Ask our drill crew to review it with you!
The Program
Every year in Ontario an average of 100 employees die from work related injuries, and over 200,000 work related injury/illnesses are reported. Protecting our employees and clients at our job sites is top priority at Walker Drilling Ltd. The management at Walker Drilling Ltd. is committed to providing a safe work environment, the proper tools to do the job and job specific training to ensure that our employees are given every possible advantage in completing their tasks safely. We continually review and develop new policies and procedures in response to the hazards or incidents that develop in the course of our work. By encouraging feedback and participation from all the levels of our company, Walker Drilling Ltd. endeavors to develop and implement an up to date and relevant Health and Safety Program.
Our Plan
Our Health and Safety Plan is continually evolving, as we face new tasks or procedures, the plan is updated accordingly. Work Practices and General Rules are reviewed regularly by the Joint Health and Safety Committee, and recommendations are made to the management team to improve the protection of our employees. Our Training Program
Training is important in developing and implementing safety in a work place. It has been estimated that only 1 in 5 workers receive any kind of training for their job in their first year of work. Walker Drilling Ltd. implements a New Worker Orientation Program, as well as ensuring that all of our employees are current and up to date on their training.
